The 916 has been off the road for a few years now. It did have a new Mot last year but this has run out so I decided to get it back on the road.
From memory the air filters which are the foam type that need cleaning and oiling again. Needed to be done. When I tried to start it up, the battery had died as the battery charger also died.
I topped up the battery with distilled water, stuck it on charge. Cleaned the air filters in petrol, air dried them with a compressor and re oiled them.
I hope it will start on the button as it did before.
There are many things that make this motorcycle great. With ten zeus clips removed, the battery is exposed and easily reached. Four allen bolts off the top fairing and both fairings are removed. Very quick to get to service items on this 916. Taking the screws off the air filter, the air filter is ready to be serviced.
